ABOUT US

We are scholars and ministers working together in Orange County, California. Our common connection is our education from or teaching at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA. We are conservative, orthodox Christians dedicated to restoring the Evangelical Church in America to its biblical and historical foundations. Concerned about current trends in theology and Church practice, we have banded together to call the Church back to the sources once again.

We are a group of Evangelical scholars, pastors, teachers and authors dedicated to participating in the Great Mission of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:16-20) —the mission to disciple the nations. Our focus is the life of the Christian mind and our main goal is to equip pastors and their staff with knowledge and training one would normally receive only by doing a seminary degree. We aim to bridge the gap between the traditional seminary and the local church so that God’s ministers can shepherd their flocks faithfully and with intellectual honesty and integrity. We do this by focusing on the four main areas of Christian discipline: Biblical and Systematic Theology, Apologetics, Church History and Spiritual Formation. The Kirkwood Center exists to strengthen the saints and build God’s Church on earth.

Our vision is to carry the torch lit by our spiritual forefathers, the protestant Reformers, who sought to educate all believers: every man, woman and child who desires to know God, in the sacred knowledge of the Christian faith. Through education in the biblical traditions of the Church, we seek to honor our Lord Jesus Christ and see His Church, the people of God, strengthened in this time of great cultural upheaval.
